Desktop Support Specialist

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer information systems, computer science, or related field of study
  • A+ or MCDST certification preferred.
  • 3-5 years of working experience in a System Support role troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
  • Experience with Spiceworks help desk system and MAC OSX a plus.
  • Excellent documentation skills displaying high technical aptitude.
  • Ability to effectively multi-task in a high-activity, high-performance atmosphere.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work independently to troubleshoot network related problems, perform desktop support on standard desktop technology, and repair hardware and peripherals including computers, printers, keyboards, modems, and fax machines.
  • Assemble, install, configure, and test new software and setups prior to upgrades and deployment.
  • Perform special projects as assigned, including system rollouts requiring some evening and weekend support.
  • Have a thorough working knowledge of Microsoft Office 2007 and previous versions, Windows/XP Professional and Vista Networking.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
